Astrology is a belief system and a practice that suggests a correlation between the positions and movements of celestial bodies (such as the Sun, Moon, planets, and stars) and events happening on Earth, as well as human characteristics and personality traits. Astrologers analyze these celestial positions and create interpretations or predictions based on various astrological systems and techniques.

In astrology, the most commonly known system is Western astrology, which is based on the tropical zodiac. The tropical zodiac divides the ecliptic (the apparent path of the Sun around the Earth) into twelve equal segments called zodiac signs, with each sign representing a specific period of the year. The twelve signs are Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, and Pisces.

Astrology also considers the positions of the planets at the time of a person’s birth, known as the natal chart or birth chart. The birth chart is a snapshot of the sky at the moment of birth and is believed to influence an individual’s personality traits, tendencies, and life events. It consists of the twelve zodiac signs, the planets, and other astrological elements such as houses and aspects, which represent different areas of life and relationships between the planets.
